Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing – Advancing Optical Monitoring Technologies

With a team of over 25 dedicated R&D engineers, we are shaping the future with innovative solutions in fiber optic sensing and telecommunication. SAMM Teknoloji is committed to providing optimal solutions, ensuring that every product and service we offer is both technically superior and cost-effective.

Our manufacturing facilities, located in the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone (GOSB), began fiber optic cable production in 2016 and earned R&D Center certification in 2018 under Law No. 5746. Since then, our R&D Center has led numerous projects in fiber optic sensing technologies, collaborating with research institutions and universities to develop cutting-edge solutions.

FOTAS DAS

Advanced Distributed Acoustic Sensing System

In 2019, as part of a collaboration with TÜBİTAK Bilgem, our R&D center developed and introduced FOTAS DAS—a fiber optic-based Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system. FOTAS DAS detects acoustic signals surrounding fiber optic cables, analyzes these signals using AI-driven algorithms, and provides real-time alerts to end users.

FOTAS DAS plays a critical role in:

• Oil & gas pipeline security
• Perimeter protection and border surveillance
• Telecom infrastructure monitoring

With Distributed Acoustic Sensing technology, FOTAS DAS enables large-scale monitoring solutions, making infrastructures more secure and efficient.

FOTAS DTS

Distributed Temperature Sensing

In 2024, our R&D center expanded the FOTAS product family with the introduction of FOTAS DTS  Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system. FOTAS DTS enables real-time thermal monitoring (RTTR) and fire detection across critical applications, including:

• Road and rail tunnels
• Warehouses and data centers
• Industrial facilities and power grids

By utilizing Distributed Temperature Sensing technology, FOTAS DTS enhances safety by providing continuous and precise temperature monitoring for critical infrastructures.
