In the Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone, Fiber Optic-Based Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology is employed to ensure the security of the telecom infrastructure. The FOTAS system monitors acoustic signals along approximately 40 km of fiber optic cables, providing continuous threat detection and localization.
This system utilizes fiber optic cables as sensors to detect physical intrusions, excavation activities, and other environmental acoustic events. By leveraging Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR), the DAS technology identifies the effects of acoustic waves on the fiber and analyzes these signals to detect and locate security breaches in real time.
