Innovative Security Solutions with DAS Technology

Perimeter security systems have made significant progress with the use of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology. This advanced system uses fiber optic cables to detect and monitor activities along perimeters, ensuring reliable and efficient protection for a variety of applications. FOTAS has proven itself in this field with DAS and Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) solutions, successfully applied across numerous projects worldwide.

Key Applications Across Projects

FOTAS technology has been used to secure critical sites in different environments. The Çamlıca TV Tower in Istanbul benefits from its perimeter security system, detecting unauthorized activities like climbing and digging. At the same time, the Tasiast Mining Facility in Mauritania uses FOTAS to monitor its 5-kilometer perimeter under harsh desert conditions. Similarly, solar farms in Brazil rely on FOTAS for accurate intrusion detection, even in large, isolated areas. These projects highlight FOTAS’s ability to adapt to diverse security challenges with precision and reliability.

How FOTAS DAS Works

FOTAS DAS technology detects vibrations and changes along fiber optic cables, identifying activities such as climbing fences, digging, or approaching footsteps. These systems are designed to work in both urban and remote areas, offering durable and low-maintenance solutions. With a detection range of up to 30 kilometers per channel, FOTAS provides comprehensive coverage for perimeter security. The integration of DAS with other technologies, such as CCTV systems, ensures efficient real-time monitoring, making it an ideal choice for safeguarding valuable assets.
