FOTAS DAS is an advanced Distributed Acoustic Sensing system capable of real-time detection and monitoring over long distances.

The system uses fiber optic cables as passive sensing elements to detect mechanical and acoustic effects, helping identify third-party intrusions, excavation activity, movement and disturbances along the monitored route.

Instead of relying only on individual point sensors, the fiber itself becomes a continuous distributed sensor, providing monitoring across extended perimeters and infrastructure corridors.

Single- and Dual-Channel System Design

FOTAS DAS can operate with single or dual fiber sensing channels, supporting different route, availability and redundancy requirements.

In appropriately designed dual-channel architectures, sensing can continue from the opposite direction if one section of the fiber route is cut. Dual channels may also be used for separate buried and fence-mounted zones.
